What to consider:
Your location Some matchmakers work globally and some work only locally. Depending on where you are based you can look up matchmakers in your area especially if you are looking for a partner that lives in your city/close to your city. If you would consider long distance dating or moving out of your city/country or moving your partner closer to you – in that case you can connect with matchmakers that are based abroad. You should also consider if they have a rule of face-to-face meetings or if they even accept clients via online video calls.
What you are looking for What is it that you are looking for? A partner with the same background as yours? Or a partner from a specific nationality? Or someone who has same education or even age as you do? Many matchmakers have a specific niche, so before signing up for anything ask them what type of clients they are working with. Some of them work only with certain religions. Some of them are working only with divorced people. Or some of them are working only with people that are above certain age. Get to know the niche of your matchmaker and see if it is the right fit for you.
How much you are willing to invest Different matchmaker – different memberships. Each matchmaker can have more than one type of membership. Some of them can last for a few months or few years or they can even offer you a lifetime membership. Ask about packages they offer and see which one would suit you the best. Some matchmakers accept clients even for free, but they have their specific selection process.
How comfortable you feel with your matchmaker Meet your matchmaker and see how you feel about them. You should feel comfortable and safe. You should feel vulnerable enough to talk about details you usually wouldn’t talk about. They will ask you very detailed and personal questions therefore you should comfortably enough reveal your desires, problems or needs. Keep in mind, the more you are open the better job a matchmaker can do. There is no place for judgment and everything that is being said your matchmaker must make keep as confidential and safe.
